1. CAT 2026 Registration Is Open — The Week's Biggest Story

If an MBA from an IIM is on your radar, this is the news that matters most this week. Registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 is open, and the window closes on 15 September 2026. The exam itself is scheduled for 29 November 2026, with results expected in the first week of January 2027.

Official website / apply here: iimcat.ac.in

Who can apply: Any graduate is eligible — there's no minimum percentage requirement to register, though individual IIMs may set their own shortlisting criteria later in the process.

Fee: ₹1,350 for SC/ST/PwD candidates, ₹2,700 for all other categories.

Where it's valid: CAT 2026 scores are accepted by all IIMs and a wide network of other top B-schools that use CAT as an entry point, with test centres spread across roughly 170 cities.

CAT is a single-attempt-per-year exam, so this registration window is the only entry point for this admission cycle. We've published a full breakdown of dates, eligibility, and preparation strategy — read the complete CAT 2026 guide here [internal link].
