a. Sodium Chloride (Provides isotonicity) - 1 gm
b. Sodium Sulphate (Prevents Roleaux formation) - 5 gms
c. Mercuric Chloride (Acts as an antiseptic) - 0.5 gms
d. Distilled water (Solvent) - 200cc
2. Dacie's Fluid Composition
a. Tri sodium Citrate - 3.13 gm
b. Commercial Formaldehyde (37% of Formalin) - 1 ml
c. Distilled water - 100 ml
3. Gower's Fluid Composition
Isotonic solution containing 12.5 gm of sodium sulphate and 33.3 gm of glacial acetic acid in 200ml of water.

ReplyDeleteGlacial acetic acid is known to cause hemolysis, then why used as a component of RBC dilution fluid------??? it'll reduce the RBC cell count
